I selected Inspiration Photo 4, Focus on Patterns, Maps as my focus challenge with this week’s color combination.
To add to that, I was inspired by each of the other focuses as well and somehow managed to fold those into the mix—SO fun!
The little girl is a stamp from Unity Stamp Company by Phyllis Harris called Every Breath. I got this stamp a couple of weeks ago and scanned her in to my computer as soon as I got her! The little girl is a pretty good size, so I didn’t resize her. I just wanted my Silhouette Portrait to cut her out for me once digitally pieced and then cut a layer out using chipboard for added weight. Because I didn’t resize the stamp, I could emboss over her for added dimension once put together—I love this look—and it went together pretty well. She is digitally paper pieced with a pattern made using a Photoshop brush by SplendidFiins called Brilliant Background Brushes and colors from the color challenge.
She’s holding a dandelion which brings me to Inspiration Photo 2, Focus on Product, Flowers. The edges of the card and map were both inked around the edges, for Inspiration Photo 3, Focus on Technique, Inked Edges. The backdrop for the scene is a map which was a Photoshop brush I found online and used in combination with the color challenge.
All in all, I was pretty satisfied by the results. What do you think?
