Last month me and my Dad took a trip to Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown, California, also known as “The Movie Railroad”. In addition to seasonal steam and diesel-powered train rides, the Railtown experience includes tours of the circa 1920s locomotive roundhouse and machine shop and related exhibits. Movie paraphernalia used in filming train sequences is on display. The Sierra Railway properties have been a major resource to the motion picture industry. Film credits include The Virginian, Go West with the Marx Brothers, High Noon with Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly, 3:10 To Yuma, and Back to the Future III with Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd. Television programs that regularly used the Sierra property include Wild, Wild West, Iron Horse, Tales of Wells Fargo, and the reason we went there, Petticoat Junction, which is one of my Dad’s favorite shows. Also, The Sierra No. 3 locomotive and Sierra's coach number 5 were the Hooterville Cannonball. Locomotive No. 3 was also used in Season 2, Episode 17, of Little House on the Prairie. Access to portions of the shops and roundhouse is available as part of a guided roundhouse tour which is free with affordable park admission. We had a GREAT trip and we’re going back for picnics and a tour.
Amy Tangerine Mini Kit is available NOW at Digital Project Life. I decided to pair just a wee bit of Unity with this new Digital Project Life kit to accent one of the journal cards on my layout.
Railtown USA Scrapbook Layout Supplies
I used a sentiment from Destination Happiness Itty-Bitty From Unity Stamp Company on top of a DPL card (stamped sentiment scanned into my computer, converted to png file, and printed-and-cut on top of the DPL card using my Silhouette Cameo and Hewlett Packard Photosmart B8550). As you can see, I also used a Silhouette sentiment used on a previous card I created with this Kit “Hello Sunshine”.
All print-and-cut items using Amy Tangerine Mini Kit with Just Add Color Collection were printed and cut using Matte Photo Paper by Staples, printed with my Hewlett Packard Photosmart B8550, and cut using my Silhouette Cameo.
Click on the collection image below to be taken directly to the product pages at Digital Project Life.
NOTE: Make sure to snag this kit before Sunday, March 16, while it is 20% off the regular price.
