HAPPY BIRTHDAY, UNITY!

We’re birthday hopping today—woo hoo! This only happens once a year, so lets enjoy all the NEW Unity kits but more importantly, the Unity sales--50% off site wide--What?! Yeah!

I’ve got a couple of projects to share with you today using this month’s Kit of the Month & SMAK Kit and the NEW Sentiment Kit.

First up is an 8-1/2-x-11-inch scrapbook layout I had up on the Unity blog the other day. In recap, it’s memorializing our night out seeing Hamilton (An American Musical) at The Orpheum Theater in San Francisco on April 20th.
After a week of submitting to win the Hamilton Lottery, I won two tickets to see it. GOOD seats, too--orchestra seats--SOOO lucky! I took my younger daughter, Gwen, who is an absolute fan. In fact, earlier in the month, she and her friend, Karlee, won their school’s talent show performing “Your Obedient Servant” from Hamilton. She was beyond thrilled and will remember that night forever.

Now on to explain the layout a bit . . .

The title for the layout is a lyric from one of the songs in the musical. The cameras and sentiment were from this month’s Kit of the Month and were just perfect for this layout. They would be perfect for ANY scrapbook layout.

Here’s a peek at this month’s Kit of the Month.
The little squiggly artistic embellishment behind the Hamilton logo is from this month’s SMAK Kit.
I thought it would be a nice touch to add the musical logo for Hamilton and fussy cut it using my Silhouette Cameo. I added a little zigzag stitch as a vertical embellishment to the cluster of patterned paper borders and adhered the little cameras using pop dots for dimension.

BY THE WAY--If you get a chance to see this musical, DO IT!  Also, if you couldn’t get tickets or just can’t pay those kinds of prices for tickets, play the Hamilton lottery. It’s real. You really can win. It's available to play every day. If you win, the tickets are only $10 (a Hamilton).

Now onto the way I used the NEW Sentiment Kit. Below is a picture of an envelope I made using the focal image with sentiment from the kit.
I thought it would be so fun to make an envelope and card set using Happy Snail Mail! It’s such a fun and amazing kit just for this type of project. Here, take a look at Lisa’s kit! It’s so adorable!
Here’s a couple more images of the card set. I used the “From” & “Deliver To” from the sentiment kit on the envelope along with the sentiment on the inside card.
Wouldn’t you just love to receive a project in the mail using that NEW Sentiment Kit? So fun!

I am happy to see the scrapbook layout. It's still my favorite type of project and yours is great! I am realizing that a hand delivered card is snail mail too! I don't mail things often but I make lots of cards. I didn't order the kit before but I will next time. That's why I love the hops!

As a scrapbooker myself, I love that you do scrapbook pages as well as cards. Congrats on winning the Hamilton tickets!

I am so absorbed with card making that my scrapbooking gets neglected. Great to see such a wonderful page. Thanks for the tip about Hamilton. I will have to check it out. I also have the snail mail coming and can't wait.
