I have a “thing” for office supplies and office machines. Recently I fell in love with another way to use sticky notes—STAMPING & PRINTING on them. The thought of it makes me giddy. They stick to stuff. People are used to seeing them as reminders for things to do. This makes them a surprising medium to put something out of the ordinary on them--like something nice, funny, or outrageous. Sticky notes are square which means they’re perfect for photos, especially Instagram’ish photos. You get a BUNCH when you purchase them and they come in quite a few colors. White sticky notes are my favorite right now. You can stamp on them using black Archival ink and use just a bit of color to make something stand out or use absolutely no color at all! In the video, I used an Inktense pencil to apply just a bit of color to the stamped image and used a clear Wink of Stella brush to blend the Inktense color on the image—so, there’s a bit of color and a bit of glitter on the sticky, too.
Here’s a few examples of how I used Unity stamps, black Archival ink, an Inktense pencil, with sticky notes, and my printer.
For the above layout, I printed my photos and stamped my sentiment on white sticky notes, so that I could put some hidden journaling under the photos and another photo under the stamped sentiment. You’ll see more of this layout in the video.
I stamped quite a bit of Unity stamps onto sticky notes using black Archival ink for a fun display to look at in my laundry (craft) room.
Why not use a darling Unity stamp on a sticky note to leave someone a message?
We’re all in a hurry these days. Sometimes just a little sticky note on a sack of Ghirardelli will make someone’s day.
Another way I used this medium was to print the Unity {Be Inspired} Challenge prompts. That way I have them off my computer and out in my crafting area, so I can be inspired—you’ll see more of that in my video, also.
I’ve included a FREE sticky note template for you to download, so YOU can print on sticky notes or use it as a practice template to stamp on BEFORE stamping on sticky notes, you know for stamp placement, etc. Once you download it, print it out, and USE it!
Here’s the link to the the FREE sticky note template: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7iIy4RNSM8qY1BDZXJQNm03YkU/view?usp=sharing

Unity/Faber-Castell Co-HOP!!!
It’s Blog Hop Thursday with Unity Stamp Company--NEW ANGIEGirl Releases as well as a new sentiment kit--AND we’re hopping with Faber-Castell, too!
Today I’ll be showing you how I use Faber-Castell product with Unity Stamp Company stamps.
Below are a couple of pictures of projects I’ve put together using Unity Stamp Company stamps with Faber-Castell product. I’ve also put together a video showing you how to print your own tissue paper at home using your printer and how to adhere the tissue paper to canvas as a background for stamped images.
Tissue paper provides excellent texture for any of your projects--canvas, cards, scrapbook pages—you name it!
The background in the canvas below is printed tissue paper, using a digital patterned paper from the Cashmere Dame collection by Glitz Girls, and it was adhered to the canvas using Faber-Castell Gel Medium. The printer I use at home is a Hewlett Packard Officejet 7610.
In the video, I also show ways to use Faber-Castell Gesso to mask little mistakes that happen along the way while creating—YES, mistakes happen, but that’s okay.
A black Big Brush Pitt Artist Pen was used in the video to help provide shadow to the stamped image, and a Squid Ink Gelato was used to frame the canvas.
The size of the canvas is 9-x-12-inches and it was purchased from my local Walmart.
The background for the card below was printed tissue paper using a digital patterned paper from the Truffle Paper Kit by Adrienne Looman that I printed at home, crumpled, and adhered to the card base using Faber-Castell Gel Medium.
Here’s a link to the video, StampTech, Episode 5, Printing Your own Tissue Paper to Adhere to Canvas with Faber-Castell Products.
NOW onto the really good stuff . . .
We have ONE ah-mazing prize package to giveaway!
(Unity sign not included)
Leave a comment on EACH blog in the hop (including the Unity blog) for your chance to win.
Be sure to visit Faber-Castell while you’re hopping along for a chance at a prize from them as well.

Unity Blog Hop 07.10.14!
We’re hopping along on this HOT July day with some NEW Itty-Bitty stamp sets AND there’s a new Unity {be inspired} Challenge which includes an inspiration color photo, a card sketch, and a scrapbook layout sketch!
Let’s start with a layout I made using this month’s scrapbook layout sketch as inspiration from the {be inspired} challenge. This picture of me and my husband, Rodney, was taken on our wedding day. Saturday will be our nine-year wedding anniversary. I was feeling very sentimental about the date and thought I’d reminisce about our kiss all over again. Rodney has been the best-est husband and friend to me. He’s kind-hearted, funny, forgiving, generous, talented, crazy, laid-back, and is never irritated or frustrated with the craziness I seem to thrive from--that’s saying a lot--trust me! He takes good care of me. On any given day, he’s interested in my theories and opinions and makes me giggle—that’s important. Best of all, I know my husband has my back and what we have is a loving partnership with an amazing family. That doesn’t mean I always agree with him AND I know he doesn’t agree with me either, but we respect each other. I’m proud of him. He’s my one and only.
Okay, enough of the mushiness! G-ROSS!
On the above layout, I used the new sentiment kit, Wish with Your Heart; this month’s SMAK Kit, All in the Numbers; the Hashtag kit that debuted last month, and one of the new Itty-Bitty sets you could get FREE just for SHOPPING through the weekend at Unity.
I also was inspired to get busy making a card using the card sketch from this month’s {be inspired} challenge.
On the above card I used this month’s Layers of Life Kit, Becoming Who I Am; the new sentiment kit (preview above), and the flowers are from this month’s Kit of the Month, Beautiful – Inside and Out.
AND REMEMBER:
EVERY MONTH Unity has a NEW CHALLENGE and chooses a WINNER from the PREVIOUS MONTH! If you win, you get to HOP with the Unity Design Team for our next {be INSPIRED} Challenge AND win a bunch of FABULOUS Unity goodies I’m not done—I got a couple more scrapbook layouts to share with you. I was in the mood to just SCRAP a couple of recent photos that caught my attention. When the mood strikes, scrapping happens. I LOVE it when that happens.
This is a layout using a picture of my daughter on her recent trip to Yosemite. She amazes me, what can I say? I love hanging out with her and learning how she experiences HER life. She’s SUPER cool.
Again, I used this month’s Kit of the Month (preview above), the Hashtag kit (preview above), and one of the NEW Itty-Bitty stamp sets you can get for FREE just for shopping Unity this weekend! This is the last one—I PROMISE!
When your children become adults and fly from the coop, especially sons, you just don’t hear from them as much as you’d like to. Living their life just gets in the way. Harshly put, but it’s the truth. This is my son, Jake, who I rarely get pictures of anymore—he’s just SUPER busy living his life and I’m so proud he’s doing just that. A couple of weeks ago, he posted this selfie on Instagram/Facebook and I couldn’t have been happier! He’s wearing his new suit at work and he’s SO handsome!
On this layout, I used the new Layers of Life kit (preview above), the new sentiment kit (preview above), and the Gina & Me stamp set that debuted last month. Thank you all so much for spending your time perusing my creations and leaving me such positive comments during the hops. My hope is that I inspire YOU to use Unity stamps! If you ever have questions regarding my creative process or crafty items or tools that I use along the journey, PLEASE leave me your questions in the comments. I DO read them and would love to share information with YOU!
