Hooray—we’re hopping along to the tune of Unity!
I’ve got a couple of airbrushed tags to share with you today using one of the new releases, “Don't Be Like the Rest of Them” created by Jake Wangen. This kit is just the right amount of inspiration to get you going in a happy, creative way. My hubby recently surprised me with an airbrush kit and I couldn’t wait to get these images with my new toy.
What I like about using the airbrush is that you’re able to use just a drop or two of distress paint or ink in the airbrush and it goes a really long way. In the above tag, I sprayed black soot distress paint over a custom (DIY) stencil and had AMAZING coverage. In just seconds, I had an awesome background to place the stamped images on.
So far, I’ve found the airbrushes to be effective for a few reasons—they cover an area pretty well, they push out air AND water which play nicely with distress inks, paints, and they’re fun with stencils.
Here’s another tag using some distress inks and inks from Dylusions Ink spray bottles. Of course, I could just spray it from the bottle, but it seems like you waste so much ink doing that and you don’t have much control. I was amazed and pleasantly surprised with the control of the airbrush.
I’m hoping to do an airbrush video once I gain more practice and discover what they can do for us. I hope you’re interested, too.
Here’s a peek at the new stamp set I used above, “Don’t Be Like the Rest of Them”.

ReplyDeleteThis set is my favorite of the March new releases, and you certainly took it to the next level using your new airbrush. The colors aren't just vibrant, they're juicy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteCamille, these are awesome tags, full of bright colors that pop. I often feel the need to finish/match the back of my tags. Is that something to do or recommend?
ReplyDeleteGaylynn--that's an awesome concept. I make a lot of tags just for the sake to make. Finishing the back of the tag would be the perfect touch, especially if it will be adorning a present or given as a sentiment to a special someone. That would definitely be taking your tags to the next level.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing your beautiful tags.

ReplyDeleteJackie--Here's a link to the kit my hubby got us on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Master-Airbrush-Multi-purpose-Professional-Airbrushing/dp/B006FQCBZK/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1427658771&sr=8-9&keywords=master+airbrush
At this point, I don't think he really needed to get all 3 brushes. It seems like I'm really just using the Master Model G22 Airbrush. The kit he got me came with the air compressor.
