HAPPY New Year everyone! I’m so happy you’re hopping along with us at Unity on the last day of 2015. There were a lot of ups and downs over the past year, but all in all, it was a good one and I'd do it all over again.

I really LOVE this sentiment and pretty much live my life this way. Sometimes you just gotta let go and TRUST. Here’s to new beginnings I always say! Let's welcome 2016!

That was December flying by—crazy fast!!

For today’s hop, I’m sharing this chipboard tag where I used this month’s Kit of the Month, “Crazy, Tragic, Magic Life” with this month’s SMAK Kit, “Helluva Start”.

I’m very pleased with the way my tag turned out!! Doesn’t this sentiment pretty much apply to everyone?! I think so. I paired the stamped image and the stamped sentiment with Basic Grey’s B-Side Collection onto a chipboard tag.

Unity’s Thanksgiving Blog Hop 2015!!

Happy Hello everyone and Happy Thanksgiving to those in the United States!

Today I’ve got a tag to share with you that I did around this time last year as well as its QUICK process video.

I used the following Unity stamp sets as the main focus of the tag.

The sentiment came from the December 2014 SMAK.

The girls hugging came from Angie Blom’s “Impossible to Forget” set.

I thought this tag would be PERFECT to share today. I put together a QUICK process video of how I put together the chipboard tag. Of note, I used my Silhouette Cameo to fussy cut the stamped image. All of the chipboard pieces were also cut using my Silhouette Cameo. It’s a nifty tool for stampers as it has Pixscan Technology which allows the Silhouette Cameo to cut precisely around any stamped image. It WORKS! I used to fussy cut all of the stamped images by hand but no longer have to do this as my Silhouette does it for me as well as cutting the chipboard base.

Unity Brown Thursday HOP 2015!!

There’s nothing like getting your hop-on and shop-on BEFORE the busy holidays begin. Unity is releasing LOTS of NEW stamp sets for this hop and the sales are something to gobble about!

Here’s a few samples I put together on tags and a canvas using a few of the NEW releases.

I used the NEW Only Imagine set on my tag above. Isn’t she DREAMY?!

TIP: Apply glossy accents to eyes to give them a more dimensional look. Be sure to let it dry. I usually add this as my finishing touch to a project and allow it to sit for at least an hour before messing with it.

Isn’t she freaking adorable, too?! I think so and the little critter on her head. She’s simply different and fascinating. LOVE the sentiments.

Here’s a peek at that entire set, “Carlee’s Christmas”.

Here’s a canvas I put together using the following NEW sets:  “Let it Go and Focus” and “Keep It Simple”.

I put together a video showing the ENTIRE process, including how to add texture to a canvas using hot glue, adhering stamped tissue paper over the top of that texture, and following up with embellishing the canvas with a stamp and adding texture and dimension to that as well. I did a similar video a couple of weeks back, but this one answers a lot of your questions and shows more detail.  Also, I’ve changed how I add text instructions to my video.  Please let me know if you LIKE it or just plain DON’T LIKE IT. Hopefully it’s a change for the better.

Unity Blog Hop 10.08.15!!

HAPPY Thursday Hop lovelies!

Today I’m sharing a tag I put together using a couple of Unity’s Kits of the Month.

The focal image of the couple is from the January 2015 Kit of the Month, Magic of Beginnings.

Both of the sentiments are from this month’s NEW Kit of the Month,
Beauty Comes from Being Yourself.

I love to mix images from different kits of the month. For me, I never know when or how inspiration is going to hit, so having these kits on hand and being able to mix them gives me great pleasure and makes it easy to put a project together when inspiration hits.

The inspiration for this tag came in part from seeing the sentiments from the NEW kit of the month. I couldn’t wait to use them. The weather, (or lack thereof), was the other part of the inspiration. I live in California and as everyone knows, we’ve been living in a drought forever. I’m a rain LOVER. Rain makes me feel good, comfortable, and well, romantic. Romantic is definitely a feeling I get when I see the couple’s image from the January Kit of the Month. I LOVE THIS IMAGE!! In a quest for rain sprinkled with romance, the tag was put together pretty quickly, especially with the newsprint-looking background and the vibrant paper piecing I added to the couple. When I look at it, the tag reminds me of a romance novel. Great. Now I NEED chocolate . . . and rain.
